AlManakh (the Arabic word for climate) is a youth-led non-profit organization that aims to raise awareness regarding climate change impacts and sustainability in Kuwait. We do this through research, education, and community engagement. We are the only NGO in Kuwait that is a YOUNGO member under the UNFCCC.
Kuwait is and will be one of the most impacted countries by climate change, and these impacts are already heavily felt by the population. As Kuwait is one of the hottest countries globally, with temperatures exceeding 52℃ during the summer months.
Other impacts such as the rise of sea levels, increased storming events, and resource depletion all have dire impacts on the socioeconomic and environmental status of the country. This negatively affects the country’s systems and impacts the health and habitability of urban spaces.
We strongly believe that positive change is possible through sustainable development and practices, and we aim to advocate for this so that a sustainable future is built, for everyone.
